WHO SHOULD CARRY OUT ELECTRICAL WORK IN MY PROPERTY?
We strongly recommend you use an electrician that is registered
with one of the government approved schemes to carry out any electrical installation work you need doing.
Government
statistics show that 17% of all house fires are caused by electrical faults.
In 2004
this resulted in 11 deaths and 1052 injuries in England and Wales. There
were also 21 deaths and 2788 injuries caused by electric shocks in homes.
Remember, it is easy to make an electrical circuit work.
But it is far harder to make the circuit work safely - an essential requirement in case there is a fault.
If your electrical
installation, or any part of it, is pre 1970's and has not been inspected within the past 10 years, Or post 1970's
and has not been inspected in the past 15 years we strongly recommend you have it inspected urgently.
